Importing raw files
Same question I asked the original poster: "So you get the "J" badge, you edit the photo, you pull down the Image menu while in Edit mode, and the entry "Use RAW As Original" is not available or does not work? If the Photos application does not yet? If you are having trouble obtaining a Yosemite-compatible version, look around this forum to find one of the many places the steps are listed. Sketch: trash any nonworking copy, reinstall from the Purchases tab of the App Store application.
The RAW image is there, but you must double-click the image, then click Edit in the upper right corner of the toolbar, and only then is the option for Use RAW as Original accessible.

I double clicked the image, went to edit and still using RAW as original is not an option. There does not appear to be a setting in the preferences menu for not converting files.

I have been shooting in RAW since I bought my Nikon D some years ago - working initially with iPhoto and Aperture with no problems I have always used Apple products since my first k Macintosh in the s and get frustrated using windows!
I am now using El Capitan I can work around the problem by importing via Image Capture software and then saving into Photos as my catalogue, or as you suggest double click, choose edit and then RAW as original.
This simply feels an unnecessary step. Currently the DXO One link is providing me with another process step - I will investigate with DXO also to see if there is a fix - but would welcome any comment. Dec 29, PM.
