Start scanning PC and make a migration set. I want to move some 'Utility and Support' kinds of software, not a biggie like Office or Adobe things. That make my backup set quit small, and the operation is fast. Copy migration set to the notebook and use SoftRescue to restore those. No problem found. Now the interesting thing happen: Some software move in the already-activated state, ready to use. But some revert to before-activated state, meaning you have to enter the register key again.

Fortunately, several softwares that I lose registration keys migrate with activated-state intact. My suggestion is to keep your expectation realistic.
